Central Office Staffing

Our Central Office location at 159 East D Street, Benicia, CA, is kept well supplied with approved books, pamphlets and other literature. Ideally, this office is open weekdays from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, and Saturday 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Volunteer staff persons sell books and answer the phone, often being the first contact with A.A. a prospective member may have. We are unable to keep the office open if volunteers are not available to fill the shifts. The morning shift is from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm; the afternoon shift from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. See Central Office Newsletter for openings.

The Central Office Service Committee

The Central Office Service Committee meets at 7:30 pm on the first Wednesday of the month at Kaiser CDRP, located at 800 Sereno Drive, Upstairs Conference Room, Vallejo, CA. Representatives from our area meetings and the various Central Office Committee Positions meet to discuss issues to ensure the hand of A.A. remains outstretched to members of our community. The range of meetings and individual commitments in our area is outstanding.

In the spirit of rotation, service positions are available beginning each July 1. The sobriety requirement for all positions is one year continuous sobriety. The term for all positions is one year. Please attend the next Central Office Service Committee meeting should you be interested in one of these enriching commitments.

How Can My Group Get Involved?

• A Representative from your home-group attends the Monthly Business Meeting that takes place at 7:30 on the 1st Wednesday of each month at the Kaiser CDRP, 800 Sereno Ave, 2nd Floor, Suite K, Vallejo, CA. *Meetings will be online until further notice.
  
• Individual members can volunteer to answer phones at Central Office. One year sobriety or more required.
• Fill out the 12th Step list form at Central Office and become available for 12th step calls.
• Split your group’s 7th tradition collection as suggested in the pamphlet,
• “Self Support: Where Money and Spirituality Mix” (after the group’s expenses are met.)
